Paul Frost

Paul was admitted to practice in 1983 and has been with Morrow Petersen since January 2009. He began his career as an Associate to a Justice of the Federal/ACT Supreme Courts and then joined the Australian Government Solicitor (AGS) Department in Brisbane before his career took him to Canberra and Melbourne.

Paul has over 26 years experience practicing in general and commercial litigation, personal and corporate insolvency, taxation, Commonwealth Constitutional and Administrative law matters and debt collection.

Paul has experience working as a Senior Solicitor with the Australian Government Solicitor and with the Australian Taxation Office. In the late 1990s Paul managed the Australian Government Solicitor’s Winding Up, Debt Recovery and Bankruptcy practices in Victoria. This consisted of a team of 18 lawyers, articled clerks and para-legal staff. That team successfully won and handled the Commonwealth Bank’s Victorian based bankruptcy work as well as handling the bankruptcy and winding up work of the ATO, Centrelink, Australian Customs Service and most other Commonwealth departments and statutory authorities.

Paul has conducted litigation on behalf of the ATO, Child Support Agency, Insolvency Trustee Service Australia and a host of private liquidators and trustees as well as having wide ranging experience in Federal Administrative law matters, including Migration, Aviation Law, Centrelink and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (passport) litigation, Commonwealth Workers Compensation, defending ACT Electricity Authority in relation to bushfire claims and Federal constitutional matters.c

In taxation matters, Paul specialised in the pursuit of high profile taxpayers and convicted criminals whilst often working closely with the Director of Public Prosecutions teams.

Qualifications and Memberships

  • Admitted as a Barrister/Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory in December 1982;
  • Admitted as a Solicitor/Proctor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in December 1982;
  • Entered on Roll of Practitioners of the High Court of Australia in December 2002;
  • Admitted as a Barrister/Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in August 1993;
  • Held a Practicing Certificate in Queensland since March 2008.
